Fixing the water pipe

My mom has had a leak in the backyard for a while now. The leak is in a planting box (a large one... includes a palm tree in it). THe water would get stuck in there and Craig would try and play in it. To make it worse, mold and fungus would grow since the water just sat there.

Well, on Saturday, someone got ambitious (I'm not sure who started it first) and we all pitched in to help fix this. My mom did a lot of digging and messing wiht pipes, Trevor cut and glued pipes, my brother Luke ran for pipes, and ends and such. I got to turn on and off the water, along with watching Craig, of course.

It started with just one pipe that we thought was the problem. However, once one pipe was fixed the other one would start leaking. Eventually both planters (both having two watering pipes) were stopped from leaking.

Yay! Now Craig can play in the backyard a little better without having to be told no he can't play with the water.

Random Thursday

It is Thursday! This week seemed to drag on and on. I luckily did not have class tonight. YAY! so Craig and i were able to enjoy time together, more than normal.

Poor Trevor has been sick these last couple of days. Had to miss work and class. And slept miserably. I think he's finally feelinga little better. He made it to work today (mainly because we needed him to).

This morning, silly me. I locked my purse (along with my keys) in the car at school. So I called Trevor (on the school phone since my cell phone was in my purse) and he saved the day. He's so amazing to me! He always seems to know what I need. I sure did luck out with him.

Well, the count dwon continues. 2 weeks and 1 day left. yippee!!

School, School, School

Oh my goodness! we are counting down!! three more weeks! Trevor and I are so tired of this semester! o-well, what can ya do? hopefully pass everything.

Guess what! my brother Abraham's wife (Alex) is pregnant! I am very excited for them! and yay for Craig, he'll have another cousin come November. YAY!

Craig has been sick these past two days. hooray. He threw up 6 oz yesterday morning, and ate practically nothing the rest of the day, then threw up probably 10 oz this morning. NO fever, basically morning sickness. we'll see how tomorrow goes. hopefully he'll be all better for my mom.

oh! i need to get some pics, but Trevor helped his parents cut down some frawns of the palm tress (a big process, hopefully ending with all four palm trees getting out of there).

movies

While in California, we took up some bubbles. Craig was having so much fun! He's really good at blwoing on a little toy trumpet, so I knew he'd be good at this too.

This was on our way home from Reno. He just loves to relax.

Fun goofing off from Reno

I forgot to add some of these. here is Trevor with some of Megan's daughters.

ASCE conference

We went to Northridge, CA for an engineering conference for Trevor. It was near LA and absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect according to Trevor and Craig and a little bit chilly the first day according to me. We were able to leave LV on Wednesday night and stay until Sunday. Craig was really good on the trips again. We took our car and had to figure out a way to hang the DVD player (we borrowed from Anita again). It was behind the passenger's seat, but Craig figured out how to reach it and open the disc. He loved hearing the frogs at the start of the Nickelodeon DVDs. (His favorite, Backyardigans) So he was always opening the disc.

Thursday, Craig and I met up with Trevor. Craig and I ended up walking around campus in our stroller for an hour. It was a beautiful campus. There were flowers and grass and trees everywhere (something Vegas lacks). We tried to go through their orange grove on campus, but it was under construction. But we found these beautiful redwood trees and I tried to take some pictures of Craig with them, but it didn't work too well.

That night, we took a magnificent drive down to Santa Monica beach. We took rte 27 (I think) down to the beaches and it was the a fun drive down. The drive back up that road, in the dark, not so fun. A little nauseating. But during the day, gorgeous.

We were able to just walk around on a pier and in the beach a little. It was fun.

Friday, Trevor had the steel bridge competition and Craig and I mostly hung out at the hotel and relaxed walking around a mall.

Saturday, we drove up to Castoic Lagoon (about 40 minutes away) and had the canoe challenges. It was a little chilly to start the day, but the water was wonderful! It started with Craig just walking in it a little, but soon he was soaked up to his belly button and not in his swim suit of course. So we changed, blew bubbles (he loves!) and played in the sand. Then, we went up the steep hill and found a playground to pass more time. Craig had so much fun and loves playing with older kids.

We had such a nice time. Trevor is done for this year with that conference, but probably planning next years and the following conference.

We got to stay at a four star hotel!! We were amazed! All of UNLV stayed at the same place (otherwise we would have had a cheap 1 star hotel) and it was so nice. Trevor took his x-box and when plugging it into the tv, he found a Nintendo DS sitting way behind the tv. We asked the front desk and they said no one reported anything missing. Well, one of the games has a date of usage posted and it hadn't been used since December. Some poor rich kids probably lost their DS and had it replaced already. **Lucky Trevor!
