craig

I feel like i have been neglecting Craig, because i have been writing all about me the last little bit. plus, there aren't even any cute pics in any of my recent blogs.

On July 20th, we went to the park for a little bit. But it was pretty warm, even though it looked so loverly. So after about 10 minutes, we went back home. But Trevor and Luke threw around a frisbee. Craig blew bubbles with me and Heidi. Then, he had some fun with the soccer ball.

Then, we went home and it was my sister, Anne's birthday. She drove home from Idaho on Friday, but then went to Disneyland with Ammon and Megan drove as their chaperone/driver. So they got back home on Sunday around 6. We had cake for her and it was fun. The next day, Craig found a sucker that Anita brought home from her Disneyland trip with Emma and Jenna. Craig banged it on the desk until it opened and brought it to me, so I finally let him have it. The last picture is Craig eating a little bit of hot dog with all of hios ketchup and mustard! silly boy! i love that smile though!
Then, Friday, my cousin Travis got married! so we drove up to Panaca in Anne's car with Anne and Megan. (our car is still having a little bit of overheating issues because we haven't taken it in.)

There's a picture of me, Crystal and Anne. Then, my cousin Amber's son, Carson and Craig playing. they didn't play the best, but o-well. they didn't scream and fight the entire time. But Carson has always been a bigger kid and he still is bigger than Craig.

Carson when he was probably 4 months and Craig was just born.

The last couple are Craig having a fit. He likes to throw himself on the floor and put his whole hand in his mouth and cry sometimes (he really would like a pacifier, but we are trying to wean him from it). well, he was doing so two nights ago and Luke decided to get down there and join him. i was cracking up laughing at Luke making fun of him and Trevor joined them. At first, Trevor tried tickling Craig to make him happier, but it didn't work. it ended up that Craig was a little happier in the last picture by the time both men were howling! And i was craking up! thanks guys for the fun.

Well, that just about sums up my last week!

Reminiscing

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Joys, Fears, etc.

Tagged!

How to play this Game of Tag

1. List three things for each category
2. Tag Three more people at the end of the post
3. Have fun getting to know your friends and family

Joys:

1. Spending time with Trevor and Craig- I am especially enjoying this unexpected break in work this summer and I get to spend everyday with Craig!! Hidden blessings. gotta love em.

2. Great music and driving- I have always had a stick shift/manual car and LOVE IT! I love driving down the clear freeway (possibly a little too fast) and some really good music on! It puts me in such a good mood. Or, not on the freeway, but rolling the windows down (not too hot outside, obviously) and blasting a good song.

3. being done with schooling! Yay! I graduated with my bachelor's in may and have been able to enjoy my summer without any classes or homework that I have to do.

Fears:
i don't really fear these things too much, but if something were to be the worst thing that could happen, these would be it.

1. Getting bitten in water- I'm not sure why, but I have always had a fear of getting bitten by something when swimming in rivers, lakes or the ocean. In Lake Mead, it's a small little fear that I know in the back of my head I'm just being silly, but in the ocean, I know that I really could get bitten by a shark. I still swim, try and look for sharks. When I was a teenager, I would just move my legs swimming very quickly when in the middle of the lake and waiting to get back on a boat or sea doo. i no longer do, since i feel really silly doing it and if someting were to bite me, I increase my chances by doing so.

2. Trevor or Craig getting hurt and dying. But I know Heavenly father only has my best interest in heart, so things will work out in the end. After all, we have our family forever!

3. Me getting in a car accident, dying and Trevor re-marrying. I know he would need to, but i think that would be difficult for me to watch. especially someone else raising Craig.

Goals:
1. Be much better at house cleaning. I have not developed healthy habits with cleaning and I hope to get much much much better.

2. Help our family do things better, such as FHE, scriptures, prayer. All of those good things that need to be done.

3. Get healthier. Eating better, exercising more. feeling better about myself, especially my attitude towards myself. we want to have another child someday and i don't feel like i could get pregnant with how I am today. it would not be good for me. so, i really need to get healthier.

Collections/Obsessions:

1. reading good books; once i get started i can't stop and NOTHING gets done until I am done reading. I would much rather read through the night than stop and sleep. My last one was the Twilight series (i know, some may not think it's that good, but i love fantasy, Harry potter, eragon, Chronicles of Narnia!)

2. blogging! i love it and need to still learn to set my priorities. i could spend all day adding pictures, looking at others' blogs, and such.

3. Checking my email- I check it a lot. Recently, it is more to see if anyone comments on my blog, but Trevor is almost always on his email at work, and through gmail, we can chat easily. So I like to check it if I have a question for Trevor and don’t need to call him for it. Many I love google and gmail and blogs and picasa!!!

Random Facts:

1. We collect Mr. Potato Heads! Trevor started it, but I think we almost always have a complete collection. A new on will come out, but pretty soon we get that one. Only at Disneyland do they have ones we don't have. it is a goal of mine to someday go there, but the Mr. Potato heads could cost a good amount themselves, let alone getting into Disneyland(both of them).

2. After my water broke, I was in labor for almost 43 hours with Craig before he was born. He really didn't want to leave Heaven.

3. I love teaching half-day kindergarten! I think it is my favorite age. I also like teaching first grade, but five year olds are still so innocent! I love little kids. even when I might not be feeling my best, they will still say nice things... usually. they will tell you how pretty you are, or they like your shoes, hair, something so nice and sweet. and HUGS!

I tag Marcie and Tara and Jade, if you feel like it someday. :)

journals

So i have been working on noting my blessings for the day, and i consider the blog my journal. well, i found an idea to start Craig journaling!! So cute! Click on the title of this blog to see the site. it is really fun! also, see this site for more ideas about geneology and journaling. I love it!

background change

I am a fan of change! I love to change things up. I get bored of the same old same old. It is always fun to move our bedroom around a little. The same goes for the blog. I love to change the background and pictures.

I wanted to say that I am in the process of finding a new background. i tried adding several free backgrounds, but for reason after another, they didn't work right. so for now, it is white. I might change it back to the other one. One of these days, i might get ambitious and try creating my own background. sorry, i'm too cheap to pay for help. I found a tutorial on thecutestblogontheblock, so hopefully that will help me out a little to figure it out. we'll see.

Family time

I am trying to do better about family scripture time. I know in my family growing up, my parents always stressed the importance of reading scriptures together. I think it really helped us all learn to read. I was a struggling reader, but all I remember is that I did not read at the beginning of first grade and before the end of first grade i was able to read the Little House in the Big Woods (by Laura Ingalls wilder).

I have always felt that reading the scriptures and all of those not normal words in the Book of Mormon are a great challenge. So, I am trying to at least read a little and talk about spiritual things a little with Craig each day. It needs to become a habit. I added some links on my sidebar of many sites with ideas and help, so hopefully I can use those and our family will become stronger.

Let me know if you have any great ideas! keep in mind Craig is 19 months.

interview

I was beginning to think that I was never going to hear from any more principals and thus never get hired! Well, still not hired, but I did have an interview yesterday! It went pretty well, I think and they are going to call me today, so i will see if they liked me or went with someone else.

I was very glad to hear that although hiring is still difficult, some schools are still interviewing and we will see.

good feelings

long story short, my car almost overheated today. My car dinged at me, so I pulled over and turned off the car and let it cool off while I heated up for 30 minutes. Luckily, my mom had Craig, he didn't have to be exposed to the heat and boringness. of course, at noon. HOT!

Well, I was then able to drive home safely, turning off my ac whenever the temperature gage went up.

I was at Flamingo, between Jones and rainbow. Well, when I got to the light at Rainbow and Russell, there was a car in the left turn lane with flashers on and windows rolled down. i holler over to her ( I saw it was a girl) if she needed help and she said yea.

I had to stop. I had just sat there for 30 minutes and no one bothered to help me. (Luckily I didn't need it :D )

So, i ask her if she's called anyone and if she wants to push it out of the way. So me, in flip flops and this girl in high heels push the car very slowly through the intersection. Of course, we don't make it through the light, but cars were a little patient. No one ran me over~! Yay!

however, there's always a hill. We get stuck and the car is blocking the entrance to the gas station. Of course two cars pull up and find out we're blocking their way.

It ended up that two other LADIES came over and helped, with gas and pushing. A gas station full of people and cars, but only ladies help.

But i felt so good! I pulled over and helped someone in need. Luckily I didn't have Craig and that made it easier. I was so grateful to make it home, cool off and have helped out someone in need.

When I got home, and the car cooled again, my cute little boy helped me look at it. Then, later, my wonderful husband looked at the car. I have wonderful people in my life!

Raining!

Yay! it is monsoon season again in Las vegas! I love it! Craig and I were able to go outside and I enjoyed the rain. Craig has not really been in rain too much and he did not like it much. He was ok with it eventually as long as he was not in it.

Here is a cool video! you can't see Craig and I too well at the beginning, but there is a fun lightning strike in it! Wow! super cool.

Family Reunion Thursday and Friday

This entry is more like a journal entry. So feel free to read it briefly.

These are from Friday afternoon. Posted by Picasa

My dad's family had our annual reunion up in Rexburg, Idaho this last weekend. It was really nice up there. We missed a lot of our family. Usually we always have the reunion up at the ranch, my Grandmother's house. However, Grandma Pearson and my Grandpa grew up in Rexburg, my dad was born there. We have a lot of family history up there. So we wanted to hear some of my grandma's stories while she's still here.

Fireworks Friday night.

Trevor, Craig and I went up on Thursday. Craig did really well on both of the drives! We only stopped 3 times ont he way up. We left at 7:30 and got there at 6:30 pm our time. horrible traffic near Salt Lake. The trip back took longer. We left at 9:00 and got here at 8:30. even longer. there was a bad accident near salt lake and we were at a dead stop for several minutes.

We thought we left our camera at home so we only had a video camera for Friday. My mom nicely loaned us hers, and I made sure to take lots of pictures. When we were unloading our car back at home, we found it in a compartment between the front seats. silly us, but at least we still had some pictures! Thank you Mom!

On Friday, we had some time to ourselves and enjoyed a drive thru park nearby. It was great! It had deer, bison/buffalo!, huge elk, a moose and many many bears (grizzly and black). It also had a fun petting zoo. It was a closed off area and there were chickens, pigs, ducks, mama deer and a couple fawns. it was so fun! The animals were just free to run around and we could carefully pet them. Abraham, Enoch, me and all of our families went there. Also, We ran into Aunt Lacie and her family there. It sure was fun.

For the drive thru, we couldn't go over 5 mph, so we decided Craig could sit up front with us for a better view. he liked to sit with trevor and pretend he was driving. However, he loves to pretend to honk and since there were bears surrounding us, we were not allowed to honk. So we abruptly stopped him from honking.

They even had a moose running around inside the gift shop!

Then, later that day, we met up with all of the family up there and we saw some things that Grandma And Grandpa Pearson helped build. We drove about 45 minutes west of Rexburg and saw a place where my dad lived for a part of his life. We saw some pipelines that Grandpa Pearson put in. We all got to go for a big bus ride. It was interesting. It was just hard to understand what we were seeing because no one was really guiding us.

HILARIOUS! Everytime my neice (Abraham's daughter) was near and someone was taking a picture, she would run over and get in it! It was so funny and adorable! I loved it! She is a very photographable little girl. I can't wait to continue watching this beautiful, precious daughter of God grow up.

These are progressions of pictures. Usually I'd start taking a picture with Craig in it and she seemed to run over and be in the picture. In the very last picture, bottom right, she was tromping over being a monster. A very cute, not scary monster. She's so fun!

Then, we all went over to my Dad's Aunt Verla's house and had a small fire, dinner and enjoyed relaxing and watching and putting off some fireworks. David (my mom's sister, Lacie's son) and Trevor and I brought some big fireworks and regular fireworks and we had fun watching all of those.

However, I got about 15 mosquito bites! Annie even gave me some bug spray, but i guess it didn't help that much! I should have used more. They were bugging me the entire trip until Monday.

I will try and get some updates of Saturday's activities too.

These are from everything on the trip.
